Welcome to the help section for Artrela.
If you are looking for a new way to access or present your digital media you've come to the right place.
To start off, let’s discuss what Artrela is, who it’s designed for, and how it’s different from other streaming services.
What is Artrela?
The most basic concept behind Artrela is that you host your own media on a piece of hardware you own.
After installing and logging in through the service component,
you will be able to view and manage the media available from your computer folders via the web application.
From there you can:
- Listen to music, watch movies or view images
- Distribute podcast series
- Present company information or tutorials
- Display a mixture of media and web enabled content
At it's simplest you can think of Artrela as a way to listen to that mp3 collection you've built over the years. At it's heart, Artrela provides the ability to launch a virtual media network with your own content.
Who is Artrela designed for?
The structure of hosting your own files is a key difference and not for everyone. If hosting your own files doesn't
seem like its a good fit for you its probably not. Currently a Windows PC is required for running the service host
and for your files to be available it requires that machine to be running and connected to the internet. You will
also need to make sure that your files are ready for streaming.
So who is this for?
- Anyone who has media they would like to be able to access or present from anywhere
- This means music, movies and images but also html files with the ability to write javascript and embed media and playlists for customized playback
- A willingness to host your own media
- This does not replace a streaming service but is another alternative for content, similar to having both Hulu and Sling
- Anyone who has media they would like to be able to access or present from anywhere
- A willingness to host your own media and ensure that your files are ready for web streaming
- Currently requires Windows OS with an installed application running in the background
- This does not replace a streaming service but is another alternative for content, similar to having both Hulu and Sling
How is Artrela different from other streaming services?
Where Artrela begins to differ from other streaming services is its ability to allow you to have
complete control of your media by allowing you to host your own files.
In addtion, you can create channels similar to a network channel with your own specialized programming.
Channels can be a powerful tool used for allowing access to podcasts and presenting demo layouts.
Further combined with presenting html files, you can do something as simple as display and easily update company info to complex as interacting with 3rd party APIs while displaying a playlist.
